CST was
pioneered and developed by osteopathic physician
John E.
Upledger following extensive scientific
studies from 1975 to 1983 at Michigan State University, where he served as a
clinical researcher and Professor of Biomechanics.
CST is a gentle, hands-on method of evaluating and enhancing the
functioning of a physiological body system called the Craniosacral
system - comprised of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that
surround and protect the brain and spinal cord.
Using a soft touch generally no greater than 5 grams, or about the
weight of a nickel, practitioners release restrictions in the
Craniosacral system to improve the functioning of the central nervous
system.
By complementing the body's natural healing processes, CST is
increasingly used as a preventive health measure for its ability to
bolster resistance to disease, and is effective for a wide range of
medical problems associated with pain and dysfunction, including:
Migraine Headaches
Colic
Autism
Chronic Neck and Back Pain
Infantile Disorders
Learning Disabilities
Central Nervous System Disorders
Chronic Fatigue
Fibromyalgia
Traumatic Brain and Spinal Cord Injuries
Emotional Difficulties
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
Motor-Coordination Impairments
Orthopedic Problems
Stress and Tension-Related Problems
Connective-Tissue Disorders
Temporomandibular Joint Syndrome (TMJ)
Scoliosis
Neurovascular or Immune Disorders
Post-Surgical Dysfunction
SER (Somato
Emotional Release) is a therapeutic process that
uses and expands on the principles of CranioSacral Therapy to help rid
the mind and body of the residual effects of trauma. SER is designed to enhance results using CST and other
complementary therapies.
Assess and mobilize the Avenue of Expression working through
more than 10 different body components, including the thoracic
inlet, hard palate and hyoglossal tissues.
Locate and release Energy Cysts.
Release suppressed emotions that may be inhibiting complete
structural releases.
Refine listening and comprehension skills.
Improve palpation and whole-body evaluation skills.

A lot of young women have acne problems. Often these are hormonal in their cause and as a result, many of these women/girls are put on the Birth Control Pill. And that is bad.
Being on the Pill is now linked to breast cancer and yet, the docs continue to put these girls on them.
So what do you do for acne that is hormonal in cause?
Try detoxing the liver with a homeopathic remedy like “Chelidoneum” and taking something like EstroFactors and Zinlori to combat the “bad” estrogen your body is making.
Craniosacral helps by getting the body’s cerebral spinal fluid to flow properly from the head to the tail bone and seems to stimulate the brain to function better. This may help the pituitary which is the master hormonal gland in the body that controls all the body’s hormones. Trying a natural route before doing drugs is just a no-brainer.
Craniosacral Therapy is becoming a treatment of choice in areas of pain, rehabilitation and neurology. Also called CST, or cranial osteopathy, it is a gentle, non-invasive, hands-on technique, developed by an American osteopathic physician almost one hundred years ago.
CST theory and practice is based on understanding the continuous subtle movements of the cranial bones, which result in a rhythm of approximately six to twelve cycles per minute. This rhythm is understood as a response to cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) fluctuations within the spinal cord and brain environment. The subtle movement extends outward to the entire body, in response to the fluid pressure changes around the CNS.
A therapist gently works with the spine and the skull, and its cranial sutures, diaphragms, and fascia. By using the hands as fine discriminating tools, Craniosacral therapists are able to detect disturbances in the rhythm to help them identify areas of dysfunction, such as cranial, sutural, membrane and other soft tissue restrictions in the body.
Patients remained clothed during a treatment and treatments generally are one hour long.
How a treatment helps:
helps restore normal cranial mobility
releases abnormal myofascial restrictions and tensions in the body
releases abnormal restrictions in the head
eases restrictions of nerves
optimizes cerebrospinal fluid movement through the central nervous system
helps restore misaligned bones to their proper positions (assising troubles with back, hips, shouders, knees)

Most people think of craniosacral therapy for such things as headaches and injuries. But did you know that people with depression can respond to craniosacral care?
Although you can never give a guarantee results, it has happened more often than not that a person with depression will respond to craniosacral care, without drugs!
Saw a deal for chiropractic and acupuncture yesterday, right here in Ottawa Ontario. Get an initial visit and 3 treatments for only $29.00. Wow, what a deal!
Looks like you can pick up a chiropractic or acupuncture diploma on line and set yourself up in practice. That isn’t the case, but when a professional doesn’t put any value on their services, it makes you wonder what you are getting, doesn’t it?
The old expression, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably isn’t. What’s the catch?
If you are looking for a craniosacral therapist, the last place I would be looking is online under Dealfind or Groupon. At least that’s the way I see it. I would prefer someone who knows the power of what they are doing.

Winston Churchill once said that the average man occasionally stumbles upon something of great importance. But that the vast majority will quickly pick themselves up and carry on as if nothing has happened.
Love Churchill, he was quite a character, truly a man of history.
I stumbled upon something of great importance some years ago now. I took a course in Craniosacral Therapy and it totally changed my life. I instantly connected with the energy of this amazing technique and have fallen in love with it.
“I Love This Stuff!”
Check out craniosacral therapy and discover how truly wonderful it is for your self.
Had a young patient the other day. Slept only a few hours a day, total. Was bright, bubbly, no dark circles under the eyes and was a delight to be around.
The issue, he didn’t sleep. Digging deeper, he would get bad dreams and that would keep him awake. Any yet he showed no signs of wear and tear because of this. And it had been going on for years! Various doctors had been consulted and no one could find anything wrong with him.
After examining him, the only thing I could find was abnormal Craniosacral Rhythm. And that was it.
Unfortunately, this was too much for mother. She was looking for a pill, an instant fix. What a shame.
But I am telling you, Craniosacral works if you give it a chance.
When I was learning how to do craniosacral therapy, the instructors said it was a physical touch of 5 gms that you used. The would keep referring to the weight of a nickle as to how much pressure you should use.
Well, they told us to “lift the frontal bone” of the person we were working with. How was I to do that? And so my fingernails dug into the forehead of my partner, who happened to be Dr. Marcelle Forget.
The instructor came by and said to me, “I think you might be using a little too much force”. And that was when Dr. Marcelle opened her eyes and said to me, “Tony, move it with your mind”.
And all of a sudden, the motion I had been looking for started to happen. Although the instructors will deny it, it truly is an energetic healing where you move it with your mind. Does that weigh 5 gms, the weight of a nickel? Not in my books.
But that’s the way it is. And if you suffer from migraines, depression, head injuries etc. you should give craniosacral a try.
Nothing like the pain of a migraine headache to make someone want to try something new. And there is an answer. I have been using Craniosacral therapy for years to treat migraine headaches to great effectiveness. So if you suffer from migraines, cluster headaches, tension headaches, consider craniosacral therapy. Click Here for an appointment to check if you can benefit from craniosacral.
Craniosacral for Children? Are you serious? And the answer is oh yes, very serious.
Think of the experience of a newborn going through the birth canal of the mother. That is the first craniosacral treatment of their life. And if all goes well it helps mold the skull and cranial bones to begin their life of movement.
That said, I had a little girl the other day whose mother brought her in because of migraine headaches. And yes, children can get migraine headaches.
Long story short, after craniosacral therapy, the headache soon left. The mother reported that the little girl who had been quiet and moody for months came running into the house from the back yard where she had been playing. “I feel like I’m floating!” she happily told her mom.
