Must be willing to commit to schedules and work overtime when required.\u00a0 Salary starts at \u2018feeling great about yourself\u2019, and can rise as high as \u2018long life\u2019 and \u2018comfortable living.\u2019<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Your health is a full-time job. It needs to be taken seriously, and often the key to this is <em>organization<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>What do I mean?<\/p>\n<p>Try this exercise: Decide how often you<em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"> <strong>review<\/strong><\/span><\/em> your level of nutrients, your level of rest, and your level of exercise. Rank each aspect using the scale below.<\/p>\n<p>A) Never<\/p>\n<p>B) Occasionally<\/p>\n<p>C) Most often<\/p>\n<p>D) All the time<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re like most people, you might rank yourself between \u00a0\u2018Occasionally\u2019 and \u2018never\u2019.\u00a0 If you\u2019re one of our clients, then hopefully you\u2019re falling between \u2018Most often\u2019 and \u2018All the time.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>This scale might seem like a quick bit of fun, but the idea behind it is vital.\u00a0 Would you run a business without reviewing the finances, the sales, and the conversions? Hopefully not.<\/p>\n<p>At Awakening Potentials, we call organized and healthy living a \u201ctherapeutic lifestyle.\u201d\u00a0 This is the first and possibly most important therapy a person can use to help fight many chronic health problems.<\/p>\n<p>But where do you find the time? How do you know if you\u2019re living well?<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s where your ability to organize, prioritize and review comes in. Consider your health a second job, but one with immediate benefits and lifelong impacts. Do you take getting to work on time seriously? Then why not take having a healthy breakfast seriously as well?<\/p>\n<p>Here are some interesting thoughts to consider:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>91% of Type 2 Diabetes cases could be prevented by the adoption of healthy habits and lifestyle choices.<\/li>\n<li>The National Institutes of Health (NIH) recommends lifestyle changes as the most important and cost-effective way to lower cholesterol.<\/li>\n<li>Lifestyle changes are now recommended as the \u201cfirst-line therapy\u201d for the major chronic diseases in our society:\n<ul>\n<li>Heart disease<\/li>\n<li>Stroke<\/li>\n<li>Diabetes<\/li>\n<li>Cancer<\/li>\n<li>Arthritis<\/li>\n<li>Osteoporosis<\/li>\n<li>Alzheimer\u2019s disease<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Lifestyle choices are also the key to many symptoms that are not classified as diseases:\n<ul>\n<li>Fatigue<\/li>\n<li>Stress-related symptoms<\/li>\n<li>Hormone imbalance<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Last week Dr. Tony discussed the idea of accountability for organizing your life. Now we want to take that a step further \u2013 don\u2019t just be accountable for your body\u2019s health, be proactive. Stop problems before they even have a chance to develop. It\u2019s better to make the effort than to suffer the consequences of inaction.<\/p>\n<p>Try taking inventory of your day. When did you wake up? How many hours did you sleep? What did you eat? Did you take any vitamins? How do you feel by 2:00 p.m., what about by 8:00 p.m.? Are you happy, bored, somewhere in between?<\/p>\n<p>Once you start paying attention, trends and habits will become apparent.\u00a0 This will give you a solid idea of where you are and how much work needs to be invested in this second job of yours.<\/p>\n<p>It doesn\u2019t have to be boring or tedious. Join friends in a running group, plan a nutritious menu with your family\u2019s input, make love and burn those calories.<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re not sure where to start, there are many online options offering guidance to healthy living.\u00a0 Also, Tony and I are available to help you set up a structure for organizing your health.<\/p>\n<p>A therapeutic lifestyle will likely lead to years of feeling great and living well.<\/p>\n<p>Good luck!
